This is the first time in the 18 year history of the camp we have had to call 911! Obviously it was very concerning! Our camp plan dropped right into place! Cecil Flowe our head coach provide first responder care for the young man in question....Coach Whitely met emergency personnel at the top of the hill and all other coaches immediately cleared the area for quick availability to the injured player...the Parkview High School managers responded quickly and had medical items immediately ready. Mr. David Smith the Parkview High School Principal was at the seen before the Fox 5 helicopter and before emergency services arrived at Parkview!
Turns out the young man had a broken ankle and was transported to the hospital and will be cared for by the Parkview Panthers team doctor Maurice Jove! We are very disappointed that we had to deal with this issue but are very proud of how quickly everyone responded to and worked our plan!
The rest of the day also went off as planned and the players are really learning what it means to give great effort and why Parkview Panther football is great!
